It’s a very good bet that Vertu’s smartphone is probably more powerful than yours. Unless you have money to burn and are a little nuts. But if you shell out $9,900 or more on a smartphone, this is an example of what you can get. Vertu’s has just updated it flagship luxury smartphone line with the ‘Signature Touch’ which probably has all the best specifications you can get in the current market.
CEO Max Pogliani said, “This is the most complete Vertu smartphone that we have ever produced.” The new titanium device runs on Android 5.1 and contains an octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage plus 64GB on a microSD card that’s expandable up to 2TB. It appears Vertu is able to embrace microSD expansion while Samsung, Xiaomi and OnePlus are backing away from it.
To some this model may resemble its predecessor, but its slightly bigger and heavier due to its larger 5.2-inch 1080p LCD with a larger scratch-proof sapphire screen. The 3,160 mAh battery is also no light-weight and is matched with Quick Charge 2.0, support for more LTE bands and up to 300 Mbps of downlink. But it still has the cool ceramic ear pillow, ruby key, front-facing stereo speakers, Qi wireless charging, NFC and aptX Bluetooth audio as on the previous model.
Cameras, the main has been upgraded to a 21MP resolution with f/2.2 aperture, a dual-tone LED flash, phase detection auto-focus and 4K video recording. No upgrade on the front-facing camera, it’s the same old 2.1MP resolution. But wait, Vertu has enlisted ArcSoft to focus on the camera’s software.
And now, one of the most important elements included with these phones: customer services. “Dedicated Concierge” –a single point contact service to act as your personal assistant is now complimentary for 18 months instead of just 12.
You can pick up the new Signature Touch mid-October, with prices from $9,900 to $20,900, depending on your combination of colors and materials.
