CES is a global consumer electronics and technology tradeshow that happens every January in Las Vegas, Nevada. At CES 2016 a relatively new entrant won not one but two innovation awards. Goodix Technologies, a world leader in Human Interface solutions was recognized for: ‘The Invisible Touch Fingerprint Sensor’ & ‘Touch Screen Enables Sharing Through Screen Itself’ both won in the Embedded Technologies product category.
David Zhang, CEO said, “Goodix is the first Chinese IC design company to win this category award, which demonstrates the rise of the semiconductor industry in China – we are proud to be named alongside top companies such as Qualcomm and Samsung. By focusing on people’s desires while understanding their needs, Goodix strives to make human interface technology in mobile phones, tablets, notebook computers, wearables and other mobile devices more secure and even easier to use and enjoy.”
The company fingerprint sensors feature embedded chips that enable secure fingerprint identification on mobile devices as well as the ability to simultaneously activate and unlock these devices with a single touch. They are credited for developing the first invisible fingerprint sensor, which remains hidden under the front glass of the touch panel.
Goodix is expanding its U.S. operations into Silicon Valley in an effort to better support the growing demand for its line of human interface and fingerprint authentication products for biometrics, mobile payments and touchscreen markets.
