May as well get used to the mobile device tagged with the funky name “Phablet”. This creation which is a sort of phone/tablet offspring with a display size 5.5-inches or larger is exploding in popularity. It has claimed 21% of all U.S. smartphone sales during the 1st quarter of this year, that’s almost quadruple what it did last year this time.
You admittedly don’t look stylish holding them to your ear talking, but when you’re reading web pages, shopping, watching movies or just browsing the internet they are a remarkable device. Phablets just make sense, especially if you have a wireless ear-piece or ear-buds. You also wouldn’t look stylish holding your ear to a laptop.
But let’s face it, tablets are either too much or too little. How many times have you seen someone in a coffee shop working on a tablet?
John Oldshue of SaveOnPhone.com said “The younger you are the less time you spend talking and the more you spend texting and using social networks. You want to see the pictures & videos better that are used in your social network or are sent to you via text. I guess the way things are now Apple will finally find the perfect size when the iPad mini and the iPhone 6 plus finally meet in the middle in 2 or 3 years.”
Web designers may have busted-a-move too quick in their rush to shrink websites to fit on those tiny 4-inch displays (hope they didn’t delete the old ones). In the Asian markets phablets have already enveloped 50% of the smartphone sales according to Flurry Analytics. Start shopping for pants with larger pockets or a larger purse.

A mobile device will never replace a laptop and definitely not a PC. They can only substitute for a period of time.
